Nagano, Togakushi - Från höstdal till snöfält
The journey outside Tokyo continues, going from summer in Okinawa to autumn in Nikko and now winter in Nagano. Only missing the Sakura bloom in spring for the full four season circle now!
This time 30 people from Borderless Tokyo rented a bus and went to Togakushi/Nagano. It's a ski resort about 6-7 hours away from Tokyo. Starting on Friday at around midnight, coming back at Sunday night.
On the way there everyone's mood was on top, drinking, talking and having fun. Drinking beer in a bus with no toilet is dangerous. No accidents did occur, but I think I had the worst hours in my life the last part of the trip.
We haven't had any snow at all in Tokyo. So when we got greeted by this amount even us Swedish people got surprised.
Lodging: We all stayed in a traditional Japanese Inn our company was the only people there aside from the staff.
I was in a surprisingly good condition when we arrived considering that i barely was able to sleep on the bus. This was necessary though since there was no time for rest and we all headed out almost right away. With rented trousers, jacket, skis fully gear we headed out. I took about 10 minutes before this happened. (I'm surprised it took that long)
And it hurt! Like hell! But everyone got a laugh so it was worth it!
I thought I sucked at skiing, but to be honest my friends weren't that good either.
Well I still felt like the king of the mountain!
After a while of going up and down we got tired and grabbed some food and a coffee.
I have like no ski experience prior to this. I went to Storlien in Sweden in February for some days but that's about it. So I was not really bothered by the fact that the skis weren't exactly top notch.
Evening: Returned to the Inn. Bathed in the Onsen. Dinner. Party. Speeches. Games. Christmas gifts exchange. I gave away some Kex-Choklad and marked it as Swedens finest brand. I recieved a beer! Most people had bought stuff like sweets except for Sebbe, who bought a 500 yen "Portable sex kit".
A competition between all houses in arm wresling was held and I can now proudly call myself a champion! Adding to that, I am lefthanded, and most of the rounds were with right hand! So I guess all my workout latley really paid off!
The party continued till late. Really late! So when Kuni was banging on our door at 7 in the morning asking if we wanted to ski before going back to Tokyo the answer was, without hesitation, NO! Didn't really feel too bad about it actually. Slept some more hours, had another bath, went and ate some Soba in town. The gear was paid per day as well.
At around 3o clock we started going home again. Yet another weekend of great success!
Other than that, Merry Christmas all.
I passed my exams at the end of last term.
Now I have winter vacation.
My mother is coming to japan to visit the 30th this month.
And Happy new year in case i dont update before it ^^
